Keeping the show moving efficiently! Luckily I’ve had the opportunity to work with very good ring help.

Pigs not being comfortable in the show ring!

Summer Spectacular with my Dad!

Just good-built livestock that have an elite look!

Pigs squealing and locking up!

Kipton Edie
Kipton Edie put together one of the most impressive runs of the summer, collecting banners at both The Exposition and the National Junior Summer Spectacular. After earning Champion Overall Team Purebred Gilt at The Exposition, he followed it up with Champion Overall Team Purebred Gilt, Reserve Overall Team Purebred Barrow, Fifth Overall NJSA Gilt, and Fourth Overall Team Purebred Barrow at the National Junior Summer Spectacular. Following an unforgettable summer in the ring, Kipton shared a few of his favorite traditions, inspirations, and summer favorites.

Spending time with the people who helped me find success.

Indiana State Fair.

From The Exposition to the Team Purebred Junior Show, Mya Holderly put together one of the summer’s most impressive runs. After earning Third Crossbred Gilt and Reserve Crossbred Barrow at The Exposition, she followed it up with Champion Crossbred Gilt, Third NJSA Purebred Barrow, and Third Overall NJSA Purebred Gilt at the Team Purebred Junior Show. Following an unforgettable summer, Mya shared a little about the people, traditions, and favorite moments that make show season so special.
What is your favorite way to celebrate a win?
We normally like to go to dinner together and try new places. In Des Moines, we went to the Chicago Speakeasy and tried a new Italian restaurant.
What’s your dream show to win?
Indiana State Fair Barrow Show.
Who is another exhibitor that you look up to?
Madison Scarborough. She is one of my best friends and I admire her work ethic and selflessness helping others.
What’s one thing you can’t go without during a show?
Energy drinks and my friends and family. Also Blake helping me feed my pigs and being there for support.
Besides summer shows, what is something else you enjoy doing during the summer?
Hanging out with my friends, shopping, and going to get ice cream.

If there’s one thing Indianapolis does really well, it’s food.
For this edition of Showpig Foodies, Blaine and Katey Evans are sharing some of their go-to favorites across the Indy area — from incredible steaks and fresh sushi to authentic Mexican, breweries, brunch spots, dessert stops, and plenty of places perfect for a group.

Many of these restaurants have multiple locations throughout the Indianapolis area, so be sure to check for the one that’s most convenient to where you’re staying.
If there’s one recommendation Blaine and Katey can make, it’s to reserve your table ahead of time—especially if you’re traveling with a large group. Indianapolis has become a true dining destination, and many of these restaurants fill up quickly during major events.
