What was the most special part about your win?
This is my final year of eligibility so of course I had a lot of things I wanted to accomplish throughout the summer. Winning reserve overall team purebred barrow exceeded some of the goals on my list.
What is your favorite thing about your animal?
My favorite thing about my Chester barrow this year was his name, ‘Brother’. My favorite gilt from last year was named ‘Sister’ so we stuck with the theme. It also was fun to have the TikTok trend “what’s up brother” this year. A lot of people in the barn would acknowledge him that way.
Does your animal have any quirks?
He had a big personality and was the best eater I ever had in the barn. Towards the end of showing him I started to time how fast he’d clean up his feed.
What is one thing you hope to accomplish by the end of your show career?
As I wrap up my show career I’m thankful for all I was able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. I now have my eyes set on one last show, the American Royal, and hope to end on a good note.
Who is your biggest role model?
Zachary John Lear
Favorite hobbies outside of showing livestock?
When I don’t have pigs in the barn I am traveling to livestock shows with a camera in my hands!
What is your pre-show routine?
I honestly don’t really have one
What are some of your showbox essentials?
Whiteout, conditioner, lots of brushes, zip ties
Gilts or Barrows?
I use to only show gilts at national shows but I’ve been partial to barrows the past two years!
