Tell us a little about your champion:
I had the 2023 Champion Tamworth and 4th Overall Barrow at the Team Purebred National Junior Show in Springfield.  This Hardwood barrow is from Moore Farms in Indiana.  From the moment he entered our barn this spring, we were surprised he was not kept a boar,  but for our sake we are glad he was not.

What do your days leading up to a show look like?
Since I showed every weekend this season, I was constantly gearing up for a show.  I always made sure each of my pigs were healthy, had a good appetite, and skin and hair were ready to go.

Describe the moment you were selected as a champion.
Coming from the class that was abruptly stopped due to a tornado and the electricity going out, I was excited to finally get to the champion drive.  It was made even better when during the grade overall drive hearing the judge talk the 4th overall barrow and thinking he was describing mine.  I will never forget the feeling I had hearing David Korb say that they selected my Tamworth as the 4th overall barrow!

Do you prefer summer or winter shows? Why?
I prefer summer shows better because the weather makes it easier to work my pigs the way they need to be worked.

Who’s been your biggest influence?
My biggest influences are my parents Eric & Cristi, my sister Anya, and my mentors Jeremy Jones & Gus Lukens.

Do you and your family raise pigs?
No we do not.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the barn?
My favorite thing to do in the barn in work on their skin and hair.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer?
I love being able to show every weekend with our show family and cheer everyone on.
