What part of the show are you looking forward to the most and why?
A few things — A) Being back at the historic Iowa State Fairgrounds, B) evaluating some of the best crossbred gilts on the planet with my good buddy David Korb, and C) witnessing them being shown by the most talented showmen this industry has to offer. It’s going to be a blast!

What’s one thing you can’t go without when judging a show?
Usually a Dr Pepper or a sweet tea a couple classes in.

Your favorite national summer show memory?
Winning the judging contest and being runner-up in the sweepstakes at the NJSS my last year as a competitor was a great experience. Being front row when Monumental sold in Des Moines is something I’ll never forget as well.

Besides shows, what’s something else you look forward to during the summer?
Watching the Spurs back in the NBA Finals!! We also love going out on the boat with friends, either to the beach or up our local river.
