What was the most special part about your win?
The most special thing was that this is my first big win with a crossbred and my second time ever showing at a national show.

What is your favorite thing about your animal?
My favorite thing about my barrow is his markings, I like how he doesn’t have a traditional crossbred belt. Another favorite is his calm demeanor that he’s had since he was a baby.

Does your animal have any quirks?
Even though he is very mild mannered, every once he will get excited and playful. He also has a bit of a curl to his hair which you don’t see in many pigs throughout the barn!

What is one thing you hope to accomplish by the end of your show career?
One goal is to win my state fair.

Who is your biggest role model?
There are lots of people throughout this industry, in my family and friends that I look up to an admire. My mom and my dad both come to mind as they are constantly figuring out ways to help me reach my goals.

Favorite hobbies outside of showing livestock?
I play volleyball for my high school and a club team!

What is your pre-show routine?
I like to re-organize the showbox so I know where everything is, and if I can watch a few classes before me to see how the ring is going to be run that show.

What are some of your showbox essentials?
Lots of whips, a variety of brushes, waterless shampoo for mini emergencies and skin/hair care.

Gilts or Barrows?
Both! Every year we seem to have the same amount of each in our barn!

Tennis Shoes or Boots?
Boots for showmanship, tennis shoes for regular shows
