Tell us a little about your champion:

The second I saw that calico pig in the barn i knew he was going to be special. Doc has the best personality and anytime someone comes into the barn he gets up to greet them. He has a mind of his own and is an amazing show animal.

What do your days leading up to a show look like?

My days leading up to a show are long and rigorous. I’m in the barn from sun up to sun down preparing my animals and making sure they are show ready. I want to be able to know that I am as prepared as I can be leading up to a show.

Describe the moment you were selected as a champion?

When I was selected to be 4th overall crossbred barrow, the amount of happiness and relief I felt was amazing. It was just so good to know that all of my hard work had paid off.

Do you prefer summer or winter shows? Why?

I love summer shows, I feel like in the summer everyone is so laid back and we’re all there to have a good time and show some pigs.

Who’s been your biggest influence?

My biggest influence has definitely been my dad or Will Winter, they’ve taught me all that i know and continue to help me grow everyday.

Do you and your family raise pigs?

no

What’s your favorite thing to do in the barn?

My favorite thing to do in the barn is wash pigs.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer?

My favorite thing to do in the summer is go to all the national shows.
