Kali Kimbler

We Caught up with Ms. Kali Kimbler, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Breeding Gilt at the 2024 NAILE. Learn more about Kali below..

What made your champion unique?
My champions name is Letty and what makes her unique is her hip and hind leg, stoutness of skull, size of forearm and foot print, broadness of chest, and fundamental value. Now, what makes her unique to me is her one of a kind personality as shes gentle and loving in all aspects and is already motherly to the littles in the barn, she also has a unique smell that many don’t believe which happens to be maple syrup.

Favorite quote from the judge about your champion?
My favorite quote from the judge about Letty is “I don’t know if you got room or if she hates pig food or if she just doesn’t like Louisville Kentucky, but if we can drop her just a little bit this is a awful awful nice gilt to start with.”

Biggest challenge you faced getting your barrow/gilt ready for the show?
The biggest challenge I faced when getting Letty ready for the North American was holding her, keeping her fresh and maintaining her rate of gain.

Somebody you would like to thank:
I would like to thank my parents, Ryan and Chantana Kimbler, for supporting my crazy passion and for funding our operation. I would like to give an even bigger thank to my dad for helping feed Letty throughout the season. I would also like to thank my fitting team, Blain Sorrell, AJ Richardson, and Titan Williams for helping make sure Letty was highly presented and prepared for the green shavings at NAILE and the shows throughout her season. Lastly, a very large thank you to all my friends and family for supporting me throughout my show career and special thanks to Belle Williams, Brenn Wallner, and JayJay Boehm for keeping me sane throughout all the crazy late nights, early mornings, and for being some of the best support around.

Favorite whip?
A whip that is a must in the showbox is the Sullivan Supply “driver” whip, now, we all have a lucky item we can’t go without and mine happens to be my turquoise handle “driver” whip.

Favorite thing about this show?
My favorite thing about the North American is all the shopping that pairs well with my abilities to take dads credit card, and the amazing people that are packed within the barns.

Podcasts or playlists?
Playlists, for many reasons, as it is a constant stream in the barn, is a key component to getting into the right mindset before entering the ring, and to of course have a blast after the show with our friends and family.

Brush in hand or back pocket?
Back pocket, as Letty was a dream to walk around the ring and to keep an open hand when in the ring because I use both hands when showing and do not want to cross over my body with my whip.
