We Caught up with Mr. Kade Jackson exhibitor of the Grand Champion CPS Breeding Gilt and the Grand Champion Crossbred Gilt at the 2024 SouthWest Throwdown. Learn more about Kade below…

What was one difficult challenge you faced to get this win?
There’s not many shows near me in the winter so I have to drive farther to show in the winter.

What is one thing you dislike the most about showing pigs?
I don’t dislike much because of what adds up to in the end.

One thing you enjoy the most:
Going to shows throughout the year and going to look at baby pigs.

Something new you tried:
I normally don’t show with a brush in my hand but I showed my crossbred gilt with a brush in my hand because she is a slower mover.

Besides being named Grand Champion, what was another memorable moment for you?
Right before southwest regional the crossbred gilt got reserve overall gilt at breeders cup and the Chester gilt got reserve Chester gilt at breeders cup.

Troy Sloan, Alicia Castaneda, and my parents.

Favorite show product:
I like a lot of them but I really like Pepi spray.

What playlist do you have blaring in the barn?
Normally just country radio.
