We caught up with Mr. Ryan Sites before he steps “Inside the Ring” to sort the Barrow Show at the 2024 Georgia National Livestock Show. Learn more about Ryan below!

Tell us a little about yourself and your background in the ag industry?
Been fortunate to be around the swine industry all my life. Growing up we raised Chester’s and Crosses. Currently, my wife Wendy and my son Rhett raise Durocs, Chester’s and crosses. Back in my earlier years I was an Ag Teacher at Elgin Oklahoma for 9 years before taking my current position with Show Rite Show Feeds.

What are you looking forward to most about judging this show?
Always enjoy working with the kids and evaluating the swine show. Been fortunate to judge in Georgia before and have always enjoyed the people and judging on the carpet.

What is a nonnegotiable for you when sorting hog shows?
Feet and legs are always very important to me. Yes, we all love to find those with all the extras, but they have to be sound.

Favorite hotel chain to stay in while at shows?
Not very particular on this. Usually, it is the one most convenient to where we are the next day.
