Tell us a little about yourself!
I am from Media, IL and am the owner/operator of Livermore Swine Genetics which is comprised of 30 elite sows with a special emphasis on Crossbreds.
I am a Graduate of Western Illinois University with a Bachelors of Agriculture Science. While in attendance at WIU I was a part of an extremely talented livestock judging team; capturing numerous high team finishes, under the direction of Dr. Mark Hoge.
In conjunction with Livermore Swine Genetics; I also am a Field Staff Manager for JBS Live Pork overseeing 60,000 wean to finish head spaces in Western Illinois.
Who got you involved in the livestock industry and how?
I have been a part of livestock production for as long as I can remember. It started as an event we all did as family, raising and showing sheep and pigs. Quickly, it became our lifestyle as our itch for competition grew stronger. I think I speak for all three of us kids that non of what we have accomplished within the industry, and continue to pursue, would be made possible without the encouragement, and other added factors given by our parents John and Melissa.
