What was the most special part about your win?
I thought it was pretty incredible that the same two showmen, me and Ella Bobell, were Grand and Reserve gilt with the same breed two years in a row.
What is your favorite thing about your animal?
My favorite thing about my animal, Trinity, was her personality. Ever since the day we got her, she was the sweetest pig in the barn. She was always amazing to show and loved her life.
Does your animal have any quirks?
Trinity would always come up to the front of the pen and want you to scratch her head and ears. She loved to be the center of attention.
What is one thing you hope to accomplish by the end of your show career?
I would like to win Grand Champion Purebred Gilt at the Exposition.
Who is your biggest role model?
I can’t just say I have one role model because that would be unfair to the many of people I have in my life that have made me the person I am today. Some of these people in my life are, most importantly, my incredible parents, the Platts, the Schaeffers, the Caldwells, and many others.
Favorite hobbies outside of showing livestock?
My favorite hobbies outside of showing livestock are playing volleyball, reading books, and spending time with my family.
What is your pre-show routine?
My pre-show routine is to always go somewhere where I am by myself, and I will pray that whatever happens today it is in God’s hands. I always tell myself that God has a plan for me, and I have to trust that it will all work out.
What are some of your showbox essentials?
Some of my showbox essentials are All N, Champions Choice, Healthy Hog, and Docs Probiotics.
Gilts or Barrows?
My favorite to show are purebred gilts.
Tennis Shoes or Boots?
I would normally say I prefer boots, but since I am currently in a gigantic knee brace, tennis shoes are a lot more comfortable and easy to hobble around in.
Cats or Dogs?
I prefer dogs over cats.
Summer shows or winter shows?
I prefer summer shows because I have never shown in any winter shows with pigs.
Favorite Breed?
My favorite breed is duroc.
