We caught up with Collin Nebuda, exhibitor of the Grand Champion 4-H Breeding Gilt at the Nebraska State Fair.

Cactus Jack’s.

What’s your biggest win or proudest moment so far?
Winning the Grand Champion 4-H Breeding Gilt at the Nebraska State Fair.

How do you stay motivated during the tough days in the barn?
I always remember my why and remind myself that you have to put your mind to winning. I make that my goal and keep focusing on it. Every small win helps build the mindset for the big win.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a first-year exhibitor?
Remember, it’s easy to focus on the banner, but the real value is in everything you learn along the way. It’s important to have a great support system to help you reach your goals.

What do you look forward to most about your state fair?
Being surrounded by friends who enjoy showing pigs as much as I do. It’s a place where all the hard work finally comes together — and you get to celebrate it.
