Case Brassfield

We Caught up with Mr. Case Brassfield exhibitor of the Grand Champion  Purebred Barrow  at the 2024 Southwest ThrowDown. Learn more about Case below…

What was one difficult challenge you faced to get this win?
The most difficult challenge I had to face was my pig going off feed the day before the show as well as the stiff competition in the Chester breed itself.

What is one thing you dislike the most about showing pigs?
Managing my schedule is the hardest part about showing pigs and that’s what I dislike the most. Besides showing, I also play sports, and work for a local rancher. Sometimes that means cleaning pens after a long day at work or after a ball game. There’s lots of work to do and little time to do it.

One thing you enjoy the most:
I’m really digging this new shag game. It’s fun to fit hogs on show day! I also really enjoy the environment of the shows. Being around like minded, ag-driven, competitive people is fun!

Something new you tried:
This year me and my dad have started fitting legs on the pigs by trying different tools and products. It is becoming one of my favorite things to do.

Besides being named Grand Champion, what was another memorable moment for you?
The most memorable part of the show was getting to take my first Grand Champion backdrop picture with my little brother, Mack.

Somebody you look up to:
My dad, Chase Brassfield.

Favorite show product:
That’s a tough one. I’d have to say, either Game On or Wintex White.

What playlist do you have blaring in the barn?
It would have to be a mix of Wyatt Flores and Koe Wetzel.
