What was the most special part about your win?
Exhibiting on the green shavings in my “home turf” will always hold a special place in my heart.

What is your favorite thing about your animal?
Both of my barrows from NJSS are like none I’ve had in recent years! These two will be remembered in our household for many years.

Reserve Barrow (York)- He was truly an outlier in our show barn, he had pieces that are very very hard to put into show barrows. My favorite attribute on this one would be his leg and paw size, that is how he earned the name “Mammoth”.

Fifth Overall (Hamp)- This one is so unique for his breed; his look up front, shapely back, big legs, and an elite hind leg. With all of that, my favorite physical feature on this barrow would be how shaggy and hairy he was. I looked forward to working hair every night on this one!

Does your animal have any quirks?
The York always wanted to bite at the whip and hold his mouth open while getting shown. Even though it is not ideal for a show pig to do, it made some pretty cool ring shots!!!

What is one thing you hope to accomplish by the end of your show career?
Being champion barrow at one of our goal shows is high on the bucket list.

Who is your biggest role model?
My Dad and Blake Danner are the two biggest role models for me in the livestock industry. They have taught me everything I know about show pigs, supported me in every goal I have set, and helped me accomplish my biggest dreams. I am more appreciative of them than they will ever know.

Favorite hobbies outside of showing livestock?
Hunting and golfing!

What is your pre-show routine?
I don’t have a “routine”, I usually just get real quiet and start to pace around.
