We Caught up with Mr. Bradshaw Bunt, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Crossbred Barrow at The 2023 Exposition. Learn more about Bradshaw below…

Tell us a little about your champion:
My barrows name is Big Ben & he has been fun to have in the barn. He and I are a lot alike because he has lots of energy like me and I feed him eggs from my chickens anytime one gets cracked.

What do your days leading up to a show look like?
They’re really long. My dad, brother and I usually try to walk pigs in the morning before it gets too hot and then once my mom gets home in the evening we feed, wash them, drive them in front of the barn and work skin & hair.

Describe the moment you were selected as a champion.
I felt a little nervous and a little excited all at the same time and I really couldn’t wait to get to take a backdrop picture with all my buddies and our crew!

Do you prefer summer or winter shows? Why?
I prefer summer shows because if you get wet while washing pigs you don’t freeze, it actually feels good!

Who’s been your biggest influence?
Blake and Danna because they always make sure to help me do things right.

Do you and your family raise pigs?
We’ve had a few litters before but don’t have any at our house right now. I get to go stay with Danna and help her farrow though!

What’s your favorite thing to do in the barn?
I have fun roping my pet goat anytime he tries to get in the pig feed

What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer?
My favorite thing in the summer is to hunt squirrels and anything else I can shoot with my 22. I also like to go fishing whenever I can! My goal for this summer is to shoot a coyote.
