We caught up with Baylee Weeks, exhibitor of the Supreme Champion Purebred Breeding Gilt at the Tulsa State Fair.

What’s your all-time favorite fair food?
My all-time favorite fair food would have to be the chicken on a stick.

What’s your biggest win or proudest moment so far?
My biggest win and proudest moment would be my most recent success at the Tulsa State Fair Gilt Show, where I exhibited the Supreme Champion Purebred Breeding Gilt.

How do you stay motivated during the tough days in the barn?
My biggest motivation that gets me through the highs and lows in the barn would definitely be my faith. I know at the end of the day I’m doing it all for the glory of God, and He will be with me through it all — no matter what!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a first-year exhibitor?
Try everything! Do as much as you can and show anywhere you can, because the time goes by fast and the memories you make will be some of the best things to look back on.

What do you look forward to most about your state fair?
The thing I look forward to most about my state fair is the atmosphere. There are so many loving and encouraging people in the barns who work hard and want the best for you — both inside and outside of the ring.
