We Caught up with Ms. Ava Lynn Cravey exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Barrow and the Grand Champion Market Gilt at the 2024 Georgia National. Learn more about Ava Lynn below…

What was one difficult challenge you faced to get this win?
A challenge that I always face is the fear of failure or not accomplishing my goals. I stress and worry about the little things. I knew I had put in the work, and I knew my pigs were where they should be at,  I had to pray and let go and just let God handle it!

What is one thing you dislike the most about showing pigs?
It is so hard to show special ones for the last time! For example, the barrow we raised him. Being part of everything from seeing him at birth to this moment, it is very special for me and my whole family.

One thing you enjoy the most:
Believe it or not, I enjoy the daily chores. I really like to work their skin and hair. I enjoy being in the barn everyday.

Something new you tried:
Grooming products are always changing! One product I started using that I like is Purple Oil by Weaver. 

Besides being named Grand Champion, what was another memorable moment for you?
A very special moment for me was being named Supreme FFA showman, which is something I have dreamed of winning for many years.

Somebody you look up to:
My parents are definitely my role models. They will drive me across the country to do what I love. We spend countless hours in the barns, on the road working and discussing livestock and just life. The hugs after a show win or lose, are always special. They amaze me with how strong and dedicated they are to helping me reach my success. They put my dreams and goals before their own.

Favorite show product:
There are so many! We use so many different products.

What playlist do you have blaring in the barn?
I have a barn pump up playlist with a variety of music genres!!
