We caught up with Mr. Jeremy Cantrell before he steps “Inside the Ring” to sort the Barrows at the 2023 Ohio State Fair Junior Show. Learn more about Jeremy below!

Tell us a little about yourself!
Currently live in Perkins, Oklahoma where we run a small showpig operation (10-15 sows) primarily focusing on crossbreds and few Reds. Have 4 amazing kids that are involved in a variety of activities. My real job is serving as an Area Supervisor for Magellan Midstream.

Who got you involved in the livestock industry and how?
My involvement started like many others. A 4H kid that fell in love with the industry. My best friend at the time was heavily involved  and that’s where I was introduced. With me living in town, it took lots of persuading and maneuvering to get my own show animals. When it finally happened, I was hooked and never looked back. Even though I never won much, the skills learned, friends and memories made were priceless.

Favorite State Fair Memory:
Favorite state fair memory would be watching my daughter win Grand Champion at Tulsa State Fair Barrow Show.

First State Fair ever judged:
I believe it was the state fair of Louisiana.

Favorite Fair Food:
Steak Kabobs

Favorite Carnival Game:
Not sure Iv played many, but I would say whichever has the best prizes my kids find.

Favorite Carnival Ride:
Any ride that doesn’t spin in a circle! Doesn’t leave many I guess!
