In your opinion, what is the most challenging thing when judging shows?
The challenge is what I love. Nothing really, I guess.

What is a nonnegotiable for you when judging?
Removed dewclaws are unethical in my opinion, and if I see it, it will have nothing to do with the animal winning a class.

What is the most memorable show you’ve sorted?
Probably the first county fair I ever judged.

When someone says that’s a “Shane Brinning” pig, what qualities does it have?
Hopefully a good rear-leg pig with better-than-most rear pastern set and foot quality that is powerful and big-caged with awesome head shape.

Biggest pet peeve in the ring?
The extreme bobbing up and down of a showman when they’re driving their pig.
