In your opinion, what is the most challenging thing when judging shows?
Honestly, the actual judging of shows is fairly simple. Let the good pigs win. The most challenging thing is making sure everything is handled at home—and airports… those can be the devil.

What is a nonnegotiable for you when judging?
Quality—they are going to look like show pigs.

What is the most memorable show you’ve sorted?
This is tough! I’ve got lots of great memories. I think the All Iowa Showdown is maybe the most unique show I’ve done. That whole concept feels like playoff basketball, and I love it! The finale was an awesome event.

When someone says that’s a “Jarrett Davis” pig, what qualities does it have?
A “JD” pig is going to be an athlete with a fat back, bone, hair, and a long neck.
