We caught up with Harper Fordice to talk about Tiffany, a cross gilt that found her stride as the week went on.
Tell us a little bit about your champion:
My cross gilt’s name was Tiffany. She always had a good demeanor and was very easygoing.
Who is somebody that helped you achieve this win?
My dad, who always pushes us at home and makes sure we pay attention to details; my mom, who makes sure we are well dressed and fed; and my brothers who keep the mood fun, clean pens, and help walk pigs. Blake Danner helped make sure we had this set of pigs on feed and helped us along the way, along with our Danner team who supported us and helped me show when I needed an extra showman.
What was the most challenging homework you had to make up?
I had a lot of reading to do, which is not my favorite subject.
What was a challenge you had to overcome with your champion or at the show?
She did not take the ride well and struggled to adjust that first day and a half, but she got rolling by Wednesday and did everything we asked her to do after that.
What’s your go-to snack in the snack tub?
Nutella Go and extra cheddar Goldfish with a Dr. Pepper.
