Breeding/Pedigree/Genetics of your champion:
Izzy was an Avenger x Good Things. Avenger was a home raised Dubya son back on a Heisman sow. The Good Things boar was the Lackey bred boar we bought out of the first NSR Draft sale. Izzy’s mother was a first litter gilt we raised, and our son was going to show at our county fair.
It seems like with every group there is a different crate that yields the best litters and on the flip side a crate that has the most headaches.
Any superstitions at a show or at the farm?
Not entirely sure it’s a superstition, but whenever we get really pumped up and excited on one, we seem to get curb stomped. The best success seems to follow when we roll in with low expectations and not a care in the world.
At what age do you notch pigs?
Within the first 12 hours of birth.
Do you cut needle teeth?
No, we stopped doing that years ago.
Favorite Fair Food?
Nothing in particular. But when it’s time to eat, it’s time to eat.
